February 25, 2007

Wow, I totally didnt' realize I had only updated the website once in February.  Oops!  Not much has happened until recently, so I guess that's why.

I'm currently getting over a cold.  It isn't that bad, though.  Taking Airborne and Cold-Eeze really works!  I didn't go to church this morning, though, just to be on the safe side.

Let's see....last Wednesday was Valentine's Day.  Adam and I went out to eat at Harper's Restaurant.  I also gave him a "Talladega Nights" DVD, which he loved, and he made me some yummy brownies and bought some lovely flowers.

I didn't go to work this past Friday, because it was Meredith's Temple Day.  She took out her own Endowment.  I'm really glad I was able to go and share the experience with her.  My mom was her escort, and Adam came with me.  This was the first time I went through since I received my own Endowment.  I was a little nervous but soon realized I had nothing to be nervous about.  I'd definitely like to go more often now that I feel more "comfortable."  Afterwards, we went to Perkins for lunch.  The service was horrible, especially considering they weren't busy at all.  The food wasn't that great, either, but it was ok.

Friday was also Girls' Night Out, and we went to Mimi's Cafe.  There were going to be eight girls going, but it ended up only being three of us: Jeanie, Sara, and me.  I was feeling a little under the weather (I knew I was getting a cold), but I had a really good time.  It's almost better for there to be less of us, because then we can chat more.  The food was also pretty good, as I knew it would be.  I'll be looking forward to next month!

I was supposed to go Visiting Teaching on Saturday morning, but decided I shouldn't expose my illness to Cindy's little boy.  I ended up sleeping until Noon and didn't shower until 5:00 p.m.  I know, a little gross.  I felt better as the day went on, which is good since Adam and I had plans for that evening.  He bought tickets for the UNCG Jazz Band, because Max Weinberg (the drummer from the Conan O'Brien show and the drummer for Bruce Springstein's E-Street Band) was playing with them.  It was a pretty good show, and Adam got to meet Max afterwards.  Max signed Adam's 10th Anniversary Special DVD of the Conan O'Brien Show, and wrote "It's Diaper Time!" on Conan's face.  For those of you who watched this past Monday night's show, you'll know where that came from.  Anywho, Adam was really exicted to meet Max, and I got a couple pics of him.

As mentioned before, I didn't go to church today.  I ended up sleeping too late, again.  After Adam got back from church, we went to his parents' house for lunch, and Adam showed off his Max pics.  My Visiting Teachers also came over this afternoon.  The Kitty immediately got on Shena Arellano's lap and made himself at home.  She's not a big "indoor pet" fan, so she sort of cringed.  He was stretching himself out on her lap...it was pretty funny :)  I eventually had to lock him in his room, because he started biting Lettie.  He can be such a twit!  Speaking of which, he totally scratched my foot up last night.  I was throwing a mouse, and he used my bare foot as part of his runway for takeoff.  It hurt so bad!  The scratch is huge, too.  I hope it won't hurt too much to wear shoes to work tomorrow.

Soon we'll be going over to Orson Scott Card's house for an Oscar party.  I doubt I've seen half the movies that were nominated.  We probably won't stay for very long, but it should be fun to stop by.

Period end is Wednesday, as well as a staff meeting and a chili cookoff (all work-related), so I might be going a little crazy up until then.   I took a few pics, so check them out:  www.amlewis2003.blogspot.com  I hope everyone has a great week!

February 12, 2007

Sorry it’s been so long since I updated the site.  I figure there aren’t many people who look at it, anyway.

Anywho, this past week has been insane at work.  I thought I was going to lose my mind.  We were incredibly busy, and the lady who usually helps me was on vacation.  Needless to say, I was incredibly stressed out.  Unfortunately, there were deaths in the families of two of my coworkers.  Sometimes it’s easy to become disassociated when you’re dealing with people you don’t know.  However, it’s never “just business,” and it makes it that much more personal when you know the people involved.

Let’s see, two Saturday’s ago was Andy Lindsay’s 40th B-Day party.  Jason and Sabrina came into town to attend.  They brought both of their “kids,” Rose and Oliver.  Oliver is the newest member of their family.  He’s a 3 month old Great Dane.  Yes, that’s right, a Great Dane.  I got some pretty cute pics of the two playing together.  There are a couple of pics that look vicious, but the dogs are really just playing.  You can see them on my picture blog:  www.amlewis2003.blogspot.com.  Anywho, we had a great time at the party.  Mary Bernice made Andy some PJs out of Batman bedsheets bought by Jason and Sabrina.  He modeled it for everyone, but I didn’t get a pic.  Oh well!

Oh yeah, I can't forget about the Stephenie Meyer books!  I received both books two Fridays ago, and finished reading "New Moon," the sequel to "Twilight," by this past Saturday.  It wouldn't have taken me that long, but I was trying to pace myself so I wouldn't finish it too soon.  The next book won't come out until August or September of this year, so I have a long time to wait.  I really do love these books.  They're totally "Chick Books," though, so I wouldn't recommend them to men.

Two Sundays ago was my first Sunday in “Grown Up World” at church.  It’s nice to be able to sit with Adam during Sunday School.  Relief Society isn’t half-bad, either.  I don’t have a new calling yet, and I’m just wondering how long that will last.  I really do miss the nursery kids already, though.

This past Sunday we went to my dad’s house.  Yes, Adam went with me even though he was very sleepy.  I took some cute pics of Jasmine.  Chris stuffed a balloon up her shirt to make her look like a pregnant toddler…hehe J  It was quite hilarious if I do say so myself.  It’s hard to believe she’ll be 18 months old next month.  I enjoyed spending time at my dad’s with Adam.

Right now, the kitty is sitting right in front of my computer screen, making it very hard to see what I’m typing…the little devil.  Now he’s trying to jump me.  I’ll just try to ignore him.

Oh, I almost forgot, on Feb. 23, Meredith is going to the temple to receive her Endowment.  My mom, Adam and I will be attending.  It’s on a Friday, so I’ll get the day off of work.  I haven’t been to an Endowment session since I receive mine, which was nearly four years ago.  I’m a little nervous because of that, but I’m also excited.  I just hope I don’t forget anything important!

Let’s see…I can’t really think of anything else spectacular going on right now.  I suppose Valentine’s Day is Wednesday, so Happy Valentine’s Day!  I may add more if I can think of anything else.  Check out the picture blog!
